8 astonishing tendencies of the mind: Wisdom

#1 When the mind dies, love dawns

Whenever there is love, mind dies and this is painful. That is why love always brings pain with it. Something within you dissolves- the ego, that is mind, it doesn’t want to dissolve. It wants to emphasize it’s existence.

It does not want to dissolve and this dissolution is painful, it can’t bear. We have often seen couples in love fight with each other and you really don’t understand why people in love have to fight like this.

This is mechanics, love is so powerful so strong that the mind can not hold it. Mind wants to hold itself but fails, it can not exist. It dissolves and this brings pain. Unbearable pain.

To get rid of this pain, mind rebels, it fights back to stay. And that rebellion is pain.

When you surrender to somebody it is more evident.

#2 The mind wants something impossible

The mind has peculiar nature. It desires something and when it achieves it, it longer finds it interesting.  It drops it and moves away. If it fails to get what it desires, then too there is rejection, rebellion, pain. It gets frustrated.

You might have observed when you get you desires, you no longer feel the pleasure of possessing it.  Your interest drops and there is no longer that craving which was there before achieving. It drops quickly and looks for something else.

It looks and wants for something impossible, the moment it becomes possible it starts to wander again in search of another impossible. It is not anybody’s fault, it is the nature of mind.

It is used to living on craving, fulfilled or unfulfilled, it leads to frustration.

#3 Where you go, you carry your own mind

If your are in peace, your surrounding becomes peaceful, your situation becomes peaceful, the people around you becomes peaceful. You become the center of the Universe. Why do you look for peace anywhere else, with anybody else, or with any other objects.

You carry your mind wherever you go, you may find something peaceful, calm but, then another moment the problems persists.

Unless you see to it, realize it and look into it, you are not going to change anything. There is no permanent solution to this. Nothing is going to help in longer terms.

#4 The limited mind always does business everywhere

The limited mind does business in the name of love. In every relationship you will find that people are demanding more. And when they receive love, they think they should receive more than what they have given.

One feels that he has given enough!

In any relationship,  everybody feels that they have done enough for their family, relatives and so they must get love.

Everything we do is in order to get love, attention, recognition, popularity is business. Everything we do in order to receive something is business.

#5 All the desires arise when your mind is not fully conscious.

In half consciousness of mind come desires. If mind is fully conscious, there will be no desire. Like when you are in sleep no desire is made. And when the mind is fully awake then also no desire is there because everything is already acquired.

What is desire? It is a lack of joy or fulfillment and a requirement for fulfillment of joy. It is not that if desires arise, they should be stopped. When desire arises you should be more conscious and awake to be aware of your nature.

#6 The mood swings between extremes!

Imagine a tangled thread, to untangle it you need patience and skills, same is with the mind. It is very easy for the mind to like and dislike something or swing between these two extremes. The mind exists like this. It can not exist if it does not wander between these two extremes, without the duality and swings, mind will not exist.

Either the mind will like something or it will dislike something. The mind hates something and then loves something. The mind goes towards whatever one understands is bad or not right (what we should not do).

It does it more often, the mind is attached to some resolutions and ideals. I must do this and I must do that and then finds very difficult to follow those ideals. You all have felt this over time and again.

#7 There is one golden point from where the mind can rise, that is wonder.

Wonder is where there is no concept, no mind. One slips easily from wonder to concepts. It is such a balancing line! wonder about the concepts of likes and dislikes. How it should or should not be.

What I want and what I don’t want. In wonder there is no wanting no likes and dislikes. Wonder is a wonder! It is what “IS” is a wonder.

#8 Your mind is not clear and focused when there is a burning desire.

See how cool collected and calm your mind is when the thought is dropped, when the desire drops. See how clear and focused you are. Many people have never experienced such focus and clarity at all in their whole life. This is their misfortune. I can only wonder for those who have experienced a little bit still get into desires and lust. Knowing it still you will get into it. This is not bad and it is not like you should’t do it, because then the mind will say ” no I shouldn’t do it” and then the whole trip begins. look and wonder how these impressions in you manifests, at that very moment you desire drops and your mind rises above.
