VINOD KHANNA takes permanent sabbatical from the world.


Veteran actor Vinod Khanna passed away today after his tough battle against cancer, he was 70 years old and also was MP of Gurdaspur, Punjab. He was after his conditions deteriorated admitted to HN Reliance Foundation & Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai recently. He is survived by Kavita Khanna his second wife, three sons Akshay, Rahul and Sakshi and a daughter Shraddha. He was married twice.  

He was not keeping well of lately and his recent picture where he looked so frail and thin shook the nation and his fans along with the film fraternity. 

He was seen in 141 films during the year 1968-2013 and went on to win many awards including the Filmfare award for the best supporting actor in Haath Ki Safaai and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.

At his peak career in 1982, he decided to take sabbatical from his movie career and follow his spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh in Pune, only to return after five years and giving hits like Satyamev jayate and Insaaf. His last silver screen appearance was in SRK starring “Dilwale” in 2015.

He joined politics in 1997, winning the election in Gurdaspur, from BJP ticket in Lok Sabha Poll.  At the reign of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he got elected as a Union Minister for Culture nas Tourism in 2002 later on, he went on to become minister of state in the Ministry of External Affairs loosing in the year 2009 and again defeating in 2014 from Gurdaspur.

The whole nation is grieving his demise, may he rest in peace.
