Beauty secrets from plants and herbs

There are several plants and herbs around us which nature created with tremendous goods to be bestowed upon us, it just requires better skill to extract benefits from them in the right way. Here such greens are available which are packed with unbelievable goodness direct from Ayurveda.




#1 Neem
  • Take soft new neem leaves and boil them, 
  • Use that water as a toner as an antiseptic wash and to treat red rashes.
  • Neem can be used in many face packs as well to treat acne, oiliness, dullness and other skin allergies. Use of Neem-Yogurt-Cucumber face mask for oiliness which just refuses to go.


For Dry skin
  • Use Neem powder and few drops of grape seed oil for dried up skin, let pack sit for 15 min and wash off with cold water.

For hair
  • Massaging Neem oil onto roots will prevent scalp infections like dandruff small zits.
  • Neem hair packs are also beneficial. 





#2 Saffron 
Saffron is extracted from a small flower growing in Kashmir, single flower yields single hair of saffron which grows in certain weather only taking those in account it is one of the costliest herb but widely and effectively known to enhance complexion. 

Removes tans
  • Take some malai and saffron in it leave it overnight next morning blending it nicely could be applied on tanned areas it is useful for removing your tans.
  • You can create a good toner with just mixing few saffron  into rose water and as it gives color to it with frangrance as well becomes a new toner with saffron’s goodness.


For complexion
  • All you need is Sandalwood powder, raw milk, few saffron, 
  • Put them all in a bowl and leave for one hour. Apply the paste and leave for 15-20 mins. and wash off with cold water. 




#3 Honey 
Honey beside from being sweet holds many properties too. It is perhaps first sweet which doesn’t harm you. It has loads of hydrating and anti-fungal anti-bacterial goodness.

For burn scars 
  • Applying raw honey over burnt area will reduce the ugly scars, which are very difficult to get rid off. 


For clear skin 

  • Mix honey with malai, chandan, besan and rose oil to form a face mask.
  • Apply the mask on your face and neck.
  • Leave the mask to dry and peel it off after sometime. This removes any impurities on the face and also makes the facial skin soft and smooth.







#4 Amla 
Amla or Indian gooseberry is a boon on Earth, with being the greatest source of Vit-c has multiple benefits 

For hair, eyes, immune system, stomach disorders, weight loss, even toned complexion, it does it all. It is also a natural cleanser. 

Just including it in your everyday life would give you all the benefits. Consuming it in juice form, pickles or Murrabba. 

  • Take 2 teaspoons of amla powder or juice.
  • Squeeze an equal amount of juice from a fresh lime.
  • Mix well and apply to the scalp.
  • Leave it to dry and rinse with warm water.
  • Take amla, soapnut (reetha) and shikakai in an iron vessel and boil.
  • Keep it aside overnight.
  • Next day strain the liquid and shampoo with it.




#5 Multani Mitti/ Fuller’s Earth
It is believed Cleopatra used it. Known for it’s scrubbing and cleansing goodness.

For Pimple marks
Mix Multani with tomato juice and a pinch of turmeric and sandalwood, as required, applying it on face and leaving till it dries up. Wash off with normal water. You will notice the difference. 

For dark spots which refuses to go
Add mint leaves paste and yogurt to multani mitti. Apply this pack and leave for 20-30 mins, washing off in circular motion will start to show the results.





#6 Turmeric
It has antiseptic properties and known to purify blood as well when consumed. 

For stubborn stretch marks
Those silver lines are not good looking I agree, but at the same time it is natural, one should not be ashamed of those marks, as it only occurs on your fatty areas, could be reduced by the use of turmeric. 

  • Mix turmeric with besan and yogurt.
  • Apply on the stretch marks.
  • The properties in turmeric help lighten the stretch marks.





For wrinkles 

  • Take rice powder, raw milk and tomato juice.
  • Mix them with turmeric to form a paste.
  • Apply the paste and leave it undisturbed till it dries

For cracked heels
  • Use castor oil, coconut oil and turmeric paste to apply on those hurting heels, leave it for some time and wash off scrubbing with a good pumice stone.
