Preeti Jain, Model, Mumbai, has been convicted of the charges for plotting against the award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar today, she conspired his kill with two others and the news is that she has given money to them for killing Madhur Bhandarkar, in 2005.
Preeti Jain had once alleged Bhandarkar with raping her 16 times between the years 1999 and 2004 on pretext of casting her in one of his films and filed a case against him which was dismissed by Supreme Court in 2012. As Madhur insisted that the case was of cheating and did not mention rape anywhere.
At the time when the statement was issued Preeti told ” we have had sex 16 times on the promise of being caste as a lead in one of his movies, but he never did. On refusing to get intimate with him he raped her.
Although she sought bail, she is punished with 3 years of imprisonment along with Rs 10,000 penalty. Preeti with two of her associates- Naresh Pardeshi and Shivram Das were sentenced to three years of jail term. But have been granted bail on the surety of Rs 15,000.
They are given time of four weeks to file an appeal to Bombay High Court.

Soon Preeti Jain too sought suspension of sentence after the court made decision. She approached the two men to kill Bhandarkar with Rs 75,000 as reward, in the year 2005, an year after she came up with the rape charges against him. On in-completion of the task she asked her money back which reached Gawli, who sent his men to alert the police.
A week probe made police charge the case against Pardeshi on Sept.10, 2005. He was arrested and on interrogation spilled his friend Shivram’s name too who helped him to get weapons and shooters. Preeti too was picked the same day when she was on her way to Versova Police Station.
Preeti Jain today wearing red Kurta headed towards the witness bos after conviction, on being asked what she has to say regarding the judgement, she said she was shocked at the verdict. Her lawyer has sought the minimum years of imprisonment on the ground of being woman.
