9 years after Sarkar Raj Ram Gopal Verma’s back with Sarkar 3, let us see if this is worth a watch after Baahubali 2 The Conclusion hangover, here is another presenatation from Bollywood, here have the reviews.
Star Cast- Amitabh Bacchan, Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee
Director-Ram Gopal Verma
Star Rate- ** 2/5
The movie is a sequel no wonder after Sarkar (2005) was made and then Sarkar Raj(2008) started where previous ended and now after almost a decade Sarkar 3, making a mark of return of the desi godfather Subhash Nagre, aka Sarkar played by Amitabh Bacchan. Still captivating and same aura as he enters just a wave by hand gesture is enough for the masses to cheer aloud.
Shivaji Nagre ( Amit Sadh) enters who wants to join and follow the footprints of his grandfather. Whereas Sarkar’s loyal Gokul (Ronit Roy) wanted to be next successor and feels disgruntled.
Shivaji Nagre’s girlfriend Anu( Yami Gautam) has her own vendetta against Sarkar , as he killed her father. Subhash Nagre killed his own son, Shivaji’s father Vishnu, who was plotting against Sarkar’s death and the ones who supports Sarkar, forms the rest story.
Jackie Shroff plays Dubai based comic businessman, who indulges into politics, with his eccentric dialogues “Ladddoo Ka Bada Problem Yeh Hai Ki Vo Bahot Meetha Hai”. Jackie’s talent isn’t justified in the movie he just gives creepy looks to his skimpily clad eye candies and order over phone.
Same for Yami Gautam whos is given her identity built as someone who is keeping her cards close to her hearts and with dead expressions smirking once in a blue moon.
Jackie’s character is given a miniature outlook, Micheal Vallaya, seems writers forgot to make the protagonist shine out, antagonist needs to be extremely convincing. Amitabh Bacchan’s grey hair and cold grey irises and baritone says aloud that he is for business. Amith sadh and Ronit Roy hold their own essence in front of him.
Manoj Bajpayee plays an interesting character , but just when you think his clashes with Sarkar will worth putting, he is sidelined with any reason, follow up or result.
The first half is engaging enough but fails to seize post intermission, so many loose ends and by the time climax comes, you will figure out the end yourself.
