UDAN: Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik Scheme


UDAN -[ Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik], scheme launched by PM Narendra Modi, under which regional flights flagged off, from Delhi-Shimla, Kadapa-Hyderabad, Nanded-Hyderabad. What is Udan scheme? All you need to know about it :



  • The planes will fly from hill stations to capital states.
  • Through a video conference he started two more flights from Kadapa-hyderabad and Nanded-Hyderabad and next flight will be launched on Mumbai-Nanded sector.
  • Across global UDAN it is one of it’s kind to run regionally through a market based mechanism. 
  • UDAN is key component which was released by National Civil Aviation Policy in June 15, 2016.
  • At mere charges of 2500, the journey of 500 Km  or 30-minutes on a winged aircraft or helicopter respectively will be completed.
  • 27 proposals approval has been marked by Authority of Airports, India,( total of 70 airports) under which 27 currently served airports and 31 currently under-served and 12 currently under-served airports will be connected. 
  • Out of 70 airports, 24 airports are of western region, 17 in north, 11 in south and 12 and 6 in the region of east and northeast regions respectively will function.
  • 22 states and 2 union territories will be interlinked under the 27 proposals made to Airport Authority of India.
  • The selected air companies to serve the purpose are, Airline Allied Services( Alliance Air), Spice Jet, Turbo, Megha Airways, Air Deccan and Air Odisha.
  • The craft capacity of 19-78, with 50% of seats in every flight will have a fare of 2500 per seat per hour.
